Shade Extreme – Why Shade Sails

Why Use Shade Sails?

In Australia and especially here in Western Australia we are getting more sunshine during the year. Whilst that’s great and gives us Australians the opportunity to spend longer outdoors enjoying ourselves, there are many times especially between late spring, summer and early autumn when it’s just “too hot” and for many it’s not only too hot, but it can also be dangerous too through prolonged exposure to the sun to dehydration. Everyone is susceptible to the harmful effects of the sun and its UV rays.

Shade Sails give us the ability to block harmful UV rays (up to 98%) caused by the ever changing and slightly decreasing ozone. They not only protect us, but they can also provide protection for cars, pools, pets, playgrounds, gardens, and most outdoor areas. Shade sails are literally so effective at this that they have become the preferred option for some states and councils across Australia. Shade sails provide a good cost-effective alternative to gazebos, pergolas, umbrellas, and patios.

Other Benefits of Shade Sails or Shade Canopies

So apart from the obvious reasons above, you may be interested to know that most shade sails are custom designed and fitted. They can be designed to provide more shade than a patio or pergola by having different fixings heights or having posts installed further away or in areas that would give shade for longer. Shade sails require little to no maintenance as well as being exceptionally durable, all we really ask is to try and remove them in severe weather events. It’s no surprise then that shade sails are used so widely across Australia not only commercially, but domestically too. There is a great choice of options when it comes to fabric colours, a choice of different fabrics, such as commercial grade shade cloth, waterproof and PVC materials, plus all manner of shapes and sizes, and ways to fix them.
